Roast beef and pork, a few plates of stewed mushrooms and beet soup, and a couple of desserts - the food in the original version of Minecraft has become several times more plentiful with the recent updates. But despite the variety, no gastronomic experiments are still out of the question. All cooking is reduced to the crossing of ingredients on the workbench or roasting of extracted meat in the oven. It's a pity - innovations certainly wouldn't hurt. For example, those available in the "Creative Cooking" modification (Creative Cooking).
Crops
The mod-pack adds 7 new crops to the sandbox, which will begin to appear across the map (in warm biomes) in the form of low bushes with ripe fruit (and the same vegetables will become trophies in abandoned mines):
- Lettuce (Lettuce). Grows everywhere, harvested with garden shears or by "hand".
- Tomatoes. Local tomatoes ripen in several stages and are only added to the inventory as a complete cooking ingredient when the top of the bush is fully "red".
- Rice. ripens in a similar scenario to tomatoes but requires constant contact with water.
- Soybeans. Grow in warm biomes, harvested by hand or with scissors and added to the inventory in several forms - wet (available for transplanting, but not cooking) and dry (suitable for cooking, but not for planting in beds).
- Corn. Matures in the same way as rice and tomatoes.
- Crimson chili pepper. A rather fastidious shrub that only grows on the blocks of Nilia (i.e., in the Lower World) and Nezerak.
- Grapes. It hangs from the ceiling and ripens in several stages, just like the glowing berries already available in the sandbox.
Collected fruits developers allow you to plant and on their own land plots, using pre-prepared beds and small ponds with water (many bushes will not grow and wither due to lack of liquid nearby).
Among the recent innovations - garden shears, which the developers of the modification recommend using to extract fruits and vegetables without destroying bushes or trees.
And the developers also recommend looking at blocks of Mushroom Light, which are not so difficult to put out, and after - put on plates, seasoned with salt and flakes of dried pepper.
Cooking
The mechanism of processing harvested and already ripe fruits and vegetables in the modification has changed a lot. The same wheat, corn and rice will have to be ground into flour with the help of a millstone (using a workbench is out of the question!), and sugar cane will require several additional actions, such as drying in the fresh air.
Some recipes have also changed - bread is finally baked in the oven, pasta, rice and soup are now cooked in a wok, and before cooking any meat you need to get a special slicing machine.
Dishes
An equally curious modification concept are complex dishes that are "assembled" from a couple of ingredients and several toppings that change the flavor or add unusual effects. For example, soup cooked in a cauldron or macaroni and cheese saturate faster and activate the "Regeneration" mode, while the same juices, pies or freshly baked cookies increase the speed of movement. If you add carrots to any dish, the hero will start jumping a little higher, and if you add peppers, he will deal more damage to any enemies.
Soups
Mod-pak soups are cooked in a pot with vegetable or meat broth. Among toppings, potatoes, carrots, chili peppers or extra pieces of meat will do. Served in a wooden bowl.
Rice and pasta
Like soup, rice is cooked in a wok, requires a bowl to serve and is combined with two additional ingredients like carrots, chili peppers, beets or pieces of meat. The developers even allow you to make your own version of Chinese-style rice by adding an egg.
Pasta in the modification before cooking in the cauldron still have to "scraft" on the workbench, using wheat flour. After the pasta is already cooked with the addition of seasonings and third-party ingredients like grated cheese, meat pieces and tomatoes.
Juice and wine
Juice is prepared on the workbench from a glass bottle, sugar and some fruit or berries, such as apple, cherry, melon, grapes and even stewed mushrooms. And if the prepared juice is transferred to a special barrel of long-term storage, then over time virtual cooks will have the opportunity to enjoy also wine. And the more ageing, the more curious the drink.
Pie
Pies are crafted on the workbench from flour, sugar, and eggs with the addition of outside ingredients like apples, cherries, grapes, sweet and glowing berries, and stewed mushrooms.
Sandwiches and salads
Sandwiches are an unusual appetizer that is assembled from slices of bread and meat with the addition of tomatoes, lettuce, peppers or cheese.
A salad, on the other hand, needs a bowl and lettuce as base ingredients, but is capable of including corn, beets, tomatoes and carrots as well.
Cookies
Cookie dough is made on a workbench from ground flour and sugar (including chocolate chips). It is then baked together with additional ingredients in the oven.
More recently, the modification has also included upgraded cocoa beans, which are ground in a millstone into a powder that is used as a coloring agent, or as chocolate when combined with sugar.
